Voting begins for 2022 WWCOTY winner

The voting process recently started by the Women’s World Car of the Year will once again be supported by Grant Thornton from New Zealand. The supervision of this consultancy firm will again guarantee the reliability and veracity of the votes cast by dozens of women motoring journalists from across the world.
The WWCOTY voting consists of two phases. In the first stage, the best vehicles will be chosen according to their type. The winner of each section goes forward to a final vote to determine the overall winner.
After the votes have been scrutinised by Grant Thornton, the Women’s World Car of the Year will announce the results. The category winners will be revealed during the week of February 14. The supreme winner of the Women’s World Car of the Year will be announced in the run-up to International Women’s Day on March 8.
Grant Thornton, one of the world’s largest consultancies, has been involved with the Women’s World Car of the Year since the judging panel was founded in 2009. Their expertise and rigour have been instrumental in establishing WWCOTY as an independent, international judging panel.
Women’s World Car of the Year is the only car awards group in the world comprised exclusively of women motoring journalists. It was created by New Zealand motoring journalist, Sandy Myhre, in 2009. She is currently Honorary President while Marta García performs as Executive President.
There are 56 judges from 40 countries with a total audience of more than 500 million people.
The objective of the awards is to choose the best cars of the year. The voting criteria is based on the same principles that guide any driver when choosing a car. The selections are not ‘woman’s car’ because such categories do not exist. Aspects such as safety, quality, price, design, ease of driving, benefits and environmental footprint, among others, are taken into account when casting the votes.
