Qubo
Versatility is the name of the game with the Fiat Qubo. Rear sliding doors, a wide opening tailgate and seats that can be arranged in 16 different ways means the choice is endless. Add a great spec line-up and it’s clear to see the appeal.

Fiat Qubo Dynamic 1.3 Multijet (five door)
A living space on the move is how Fiat describes its Qubo and to be fair, that just about sums it up perfectly.
Admittedly, the Qubo is not the most streamlined vehicle you’ll ever come across and its not exactly the fastest kid on the block, but for the family that strives for all-round versatility and originality, the Qubo certainly fit’s the bill nicely.
The Qubo is all about ease of use, driveability, low running costs and keeping things simple. But that doesn’t mean there has been any slacking when it comes to comfort and specifications as the vehicle has both in bucket loads. All controls and dials are ideally positioned for ease of use and the instruments are crystal clear which means the driver can concentrate on the job in hand without the distraction of searching for fiddly buttons and switches.
The driver benefits from excellent all-round visibility thanks to the high-seated driving position and front pillars that are kept to a minimum thickness and there is easily room to accommodate four adults in style and they all benefit from plenty of leg and head room thanks to the Qubo’s height.
There is a huge storage area which can be further enhanced thanks to 60/40 split rear seats and the added bonus of rear sliding doors makes loading larger and bulkier items a lot easier.
Roof rails are also fitted so transporting that surfboard or bicycle is no longer an issue.
Creature comforts include electric mirrors with demisting function, electric windows, follow me home lights, tinted heat-reflecting rear windows, climate control, and a great sound system with MP3 compatibility.
In and around town, the Qubo was very nimble and agile making it easy to manoeuvre into tight spaces.
Then out on the more open road, the 1.3-litre diesel-driven engine delivered plenty of power although the only downside was the wind tends to catch the vehicle a little due to its high sides.
Fiat has packed plenty of safety features into the Qubo including anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution, electronic stability programme, driver, passenger and side airbags and plenty more besides.
The Dynamic model supplied for my test drive was priced at £12,350 and for that outlay you are guaranteed a fun-packed ride that can cater to you or your family’s every need.
