October 10, 2018
Lexus has just announced that its all-new UX compact crossover, which will be on sale next spring, will cost from £29,000.
The three-model line-up will include the standard car badged as the UX 250h, an F-Sport version priced from £33,900 and a range-topping Takumi model costing £39,100.
All cars will be driven by Lexus’ hybrid powertrain which uses a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor. Customers will be able to select between front or all-wheel drive versions with the latter using Lexus’ lightweight E-Four system which provides electric motor drive to the rear wheels.
The UX will come kitted out with the second generation of Lexus’ Safety System+, along with a new navigation system, dual-zone air conditioning and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Move up to UX F Sport and key features will include 18-inch alloys, a front spindle grille, a heated steering wheel, rear privacy glass, plus heated, power-adjustable F Sport seats.
The UX Takumi, named in celebration of the marque’s skilled takumi craftsmen, boasts leather upholstery, integrated front seat ventilation, a bespoke Mark Levinson 13-speaker Premium Surround Sound system, 10-inch multimedia display, a head-up display, sunroof, 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert with braking function.
The UX, which is due to be launched next March, is the first model to be built on the new Lexus Global Architecture – C platform which features a low centre of gravity and a rigid body construction.
