New SEAT Leon is the perfect fleet car

June 2, 2020

The all-new SEAT Leon has received outstanding total cost of ownership (TCO) estimates to further enhance its appeal to fleet buyers and drivers.

The bold new Leon combines a competitive P11D and BiK with strong residual values to boast among the most competitive TCO in its class, costing as little as 24.6p per mile over its lifetime. The range now provides exceptional choice for all fleets, with efficient petrol and diesel models as well as mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid options.

With its visual appeal and driving dynamics also attracting plaudits, the all-new Leon builds on the outstanding value for money proposition the previous generations were renowned for among fleets, making it even more affordable than the outgoing model.

While the all-new SEAT Leon has only just opened for orders, it is already set to become a favourite among fleet managers, improving on the outgoing model with a distinct uplift in technology and quality alongside even more connectivity and safety features.

Among the most impressive additions for fleets include a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit and a stunning 10-inch infotainment screen, while new advanced driving assistance systems like Park Assist and Lane Assist keep drivers safer on the road. Evolving the model’s reputation for advanced connectivity the all-new Leon also integrates SEAT Connect – the company’s newly launched smartphone app that gives drivers seamless control over their vehicle – for the first time.

With an entry-level price of £19,855, a keen BiK rate as low as 27 per cent and residual values of up to 41.4 per cent after three years/60,000 miles according to CAP, the all-new Leon offers a unique value proposition for fleet decision makers throughout the range.

The entry-level SEAT Leon SE 1.0 TSI 110PS combines an impressive array of driving safety and connected features as standard with a frugal 1.0 110PS engine, which offers 47.1- 52.3mpg. Retaining an excellent 41.2 per cent of its value after three years/60,000 miles contributes to a TCO of just 24.6ppm over its lifetime.

The 1.0 TSI 110PS SE Dynamic is expected to be the most attractive option for fleets. This model adds to the already generous spec of the all-new Leon, upgrading the infotainment to the new SEAT Digital Cockpit with Navi, complete with 10-inch infotainment screen and 10.25-inch digital driver binnacle. The specification also introduces tinted rear side windows, larger Dynamic 17-inch alloy wheels and adds Park Assist to the list of safety features.

Despite a raft of advanced technology, the 1.0 TSI 110PS SE Dynamic maintains the all-new Leon’s outstanding value for money. Priced at just £20,955 and predicted to retain 41.4 per cent of its value after three years/60,000 miles alongside a low 28 per cent BiK, the 1.0 TSI 110PS SE Dynamic achieves a TCO of just 25.9p per mile that marks out the all-new Leon as one of the most attractive and accessible options for fleets.

While the SEAT Leon will initially launch with petrol, diesel and mild hybrid options, the range will soon be extended to offer fleet customers PHEV options boasting a compelling 10 per cent BiK.

CUPRA will also be introducing the CUPRA Leon later in the year, bringing the brand’s trademark emotive and sophisticated design to a fleet audience, with the efficient PHEV and enticing 10 per cent BiK likely to make the exclusive CUPRA Leon an attractive, high performance proposition.

Craig Cavanagh, Head of Fleet at SEAT UK said: “We know that it’s more important than ever for fleet managers to focus on getting the best value they can, which is why we dedicated so much energy on reimagining the all-new Leon to become an even more inviting proposition to drivers and decision-makers alike.

“Through its many generations, the Leon is renowned as an accessible, practical and desirable option for fleets and the all-new SEAT Leon takes that a step further: keeping the total cost of ownership so low that it’s more affordable than ever before, while making it one of the most feature-packed cars in the segment.”

As part of SEAT’s easymove strategy, fleet customers need only choose the trim level, engine and colour on the online configurator – each has its own unique equipment to make it stand out and each comes with metallic paint as standard, making it easier for fleet managers and user choosers to pick the perfect car for their needs.
