Introducing the new Kia Stonic SUV
June 8, 2017
Just when you thought the crossover and SUV sector was packed to bursting, Kia is winding up to launch its new car into the mix and it’s called the Stonic.
The Korean car maker has just released design sketches of the compact crossover which reveals a sweeping roofline and a neatly designed roof rack to add sporty appeal to the vehicle.
Kia says the car blends sharp horizontal feature lines with softer sculpted surfaces and brings compact dimensions and a low centre of gravity to the class. In addition, the tail lamp graphics amplify Stonic’s young and futuristic appearance.
The cabin echoes the appearance of the exterior, with straight lines, smooth surfaces and geometric design forms. Kia claims it features ‘smart’ packaging which optimises space for all occupants and has a floating HMI (human-machine interface) blending smartphone access with the car’s many functions.
The Stonic, which makes its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, goes on sale later in the year and Kia claims it will be the most customisable Kia ever, inside and out.
