In-car Wi-Fi is essential for 2015
May 7, 2015
Developments over recent months have seen car manufacturers adding a new function to their latest models – in-car Wi-Fi.
The trend first hit headlines when Telstra joined forces with Tesla to give Australian customers free internet connectivity in every Model S. Later, Ford caused upset with police officers, who claimed that in-car internet would be a “safety hazard.”
Indeed, with the rise in online gaming giving sites like SpinPalace.com better mobile access, there is cause for concern that drivers may be distracted from the roads. Moreover, social media culture could encourage us to share updates while travelling.
However, this new trend has myriad benefits, including satellite navigation and roadside assistance, particularly in signal blackout zones.
If we can ensure that our in-car internet use is restricted to passengers only, then this new development can only bring good things for today’s motoring consumer.
