Alfa Romeo GT 1.9 JTD
WITH sports car looks and a dazzling design there is a certain expectation on the performance and believe me, the Alfa GT does not disappoint.
Powered by an impressive 1.9 Multijet turbo diesel engine and the six-speed gearbox, this car can deliver the goods both in and around town and out on the open road where it hugs the sharp bends for fun.
So with performance covered, what about the other features? Well, one thing is certainly guaranteed – the GT is going to stand out in any crowded car park with beautifully crafted streamlining that could bring out the green-eyed monster in the most passive of onlookers.
For starters the wrap-around headlights combined with the tapered rear end add to the appeal and the massive tail pipe is certainly going to leave neighbours twitching at their net curtains as you pull away.
The GT is deceptively spacious inside with rear seats that fold flat to increase the luggage capacity and although legroom is a tad limited for back seat passengers, any discomfort is soon forgotten thanks to the drive experience.
There is a distinctively sporty feel to the GT with all controls and panels set onto a light background which simply adds to that racing style feel, but there is no lack of luxury either as those techies at Alfa Romeo have certainly donned their thinking caps when it comes to technology and quality.
There is, for example, dual-zone climate control, a rear parking sensor and even a navigation system to help you after you have zoomed past your destination.
And, as one might expect, the safety specifications are top notch too with anti-lock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, vehicle dynamic control, first rate suspension, numerous airbags and plenty more.
Add in a choice of colour schemes to personalise your vehicle and it’s clear to see just why Alfa Romeo has its very own fan club, which is not exactly short on members either!
