Four millionth Fiesta
July 16, 2013
A Ford fan from the north east has snapped up the four millionth Ford Fiesta sold in the UK – a 1.0-litre EcoBoost Zetec in Candy Blue.
The car was presented to Michelle Wardale, who has owned three Fords previously, at main dealer Benfield Ford Sunderland.
A delighted Michelle Wardale said: “When I was told I’d chosen the four millionth Fiesta I was totally shocked – it’s not the sort of thing that normally happens to me. I love the style of the Fiesta, it’s very economical to run and does everything I need.”
Fiesta has led the UK small car segment for 27 of its 37 years and it has been Britain’s overall best seller since 2009 when it overtook the Focus.
The Fiesta name was chosen by Henry Ford II in 1975 and today’s version has notched up eight awards in the first half of this year – including Women’s World Car of the Year 2013.
