Mitsubishi
Colt
With an accomplished combination of fun, style, function and performance, the Colt is so much more than just a compact car. With three-door, five-door and special edition models, there is certainly a Colt to suit all demands.

Mitsubishi Colt 1.1 Attivo
In a day and age where everyone is focusing on the environment and watching their pennies in the process, the supermini market has been flooded with choices and right up there making its mark is the Mitsubishi Colt.
For a little more than £8k you get a compact, easy-to-manoeuvre little powerhouse that is crammed to bursting with quality features.
Despite its size, the Colt is deceptively spacious inside and the generously-sized boot is ideal for this style of vehicle, plus there are plenty of smaller storage compartments conveniently situated throughout the cabin.
The vehicle is fitted with a number of creature comforts including a great sound system, leather trims on the gear stick and steering wheel, along with colour-coordinated bumper protectors, mirrors, handles and side mouldings.
Although the Colt supplied for the test drive boasted just 74bhp, it was very nippy and responsive in and around town.
I did find the vehicle performed a little sluggishly out on the open road.
It takes 12.9 seconds to reach 62mph from a standing start, which is okay, but you could be collecting your pension before you reach 70mph!
My other criticisms were the noise levels inside the cabin at higher speeds and the over-sized front pillars which rather obscure the driver‘s view a little.
But those gripes aside, the Colt is a great car for city centre driving. It’s very cheap to run, a breeze to park in the tightest of spaces and is easy on the eye too.
Mitsubishi has crammed plenty of safety features into the Colt and it comes equipped with anti-lock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, numerous airbags, remote central locking and a very effective immobiliser system.
All in all, a great little car that has plenty to offer in the supermini market.
