Citroen targets the city market

February 26, 2014

Citroen has sold more than 760,000 C1 models worldwide since it was first launched back in 2005.
And the very latest version of popular city car will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show.
It will be available in both three and five-door versions, as well as in a new open-top body style called Airscape.
The French manufacturer says the new arrival will reflect the renewal of its C-line of vehicles and it will turn heads thanks to its dynamic lines and cheerful front-end.
Two-tone models and brightly coloured interiors are part of the plan for a car that will come with more useful technology than before, including a seven-inch Touch Driver Interface and a feature called Mirror Screen for copying and running smartphone apps from the touchscreen.
The new C1 can also be fitted with keyless entry and start, as well as a reversing camera and hill-start assist.
It will be have a choice of two petrol engines, of which the e-VTi 68 Airdream unit is mated to a five-speed gearbox and features Stop&Start technology with a special aerodynamics pack.
Or buyers can opt for the new VTi 82 from the PureTech engine family. The 1.2 litre 3-cylinder powerplant boasts fuel consumption of 65mpg and 99g/km of carbon emissions.
