It is 25 years since the Suzuki Vitara first caught the imagination of the British motoring public and now the ever-popular compact crossover is making a comeback.
Boasting a fresh style, new innovations and genuine off-road capabilities it will hit the showrooms in April and replaces the current Grand Vitara.
The new Vitara will be powered by 1.6-litre petrol or 1.6-litre DDiS diesel engines, both with 120PS.
It has been designed with personalisation options in mind, so buyers can select from 10 body colours, including the new Atlantis Turquoise Pearl Metallic and Horizon Orange Metallic plus five two-tone combinations.
There are also various colours of instrument panel trim, ventilation rings and clock while Urban and Rugged packages are a £500 option.
The Vitara will be available in SZ4, SZ-T and SZ5 trim levels, with prices from £13,999 for the 1.6 petrol SZ4 variant with two-wheel-drive up to £21,299 for 1.6 DDiS SZ5 ALLGRIP.
Even the entry level models come equipped with DAB Radio with USB and Bluetooth, cruise control with speed limiter, air conditioning, seven airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, front and rear electric windows and projector headlamps.
SZ-T adds the likes of 17-inch silver painted alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, smartphone link audio plus navigation system and the range-topping SZ5 introduces 17-inch polished alloys, suede seat fabric, LED Projector headlights, keyless entry with start button, adaptive cruise control, radar brake support and a panoramic sunroof.
The most efficient model is the 1.6-litre DDiS with 2WD, which can deliver 70.6mpg on a combined run with carbon emissions of 106g/km.
