New Evoque really ups the ante

February 21, 2014

The Evoque has secured record sales for Land Rover and now it’s going even more upmarket with the addition of the lavish Autobiography trim grade.
The Evoque Autobiography Dynamic sees the model’s 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine upgraded to 285PS which is a substantial 45PS increase.
And according to Land Rover, its nine-speed ZF transmission now responds even more keenly to sportier driver inputs, including when left in Drive mode.
Active driveline, an option on all Range Rover Evoque derivatives, comes as standard kit on the Autobiography Dynamic. As one of the world’s first four-wheel-drive systems of its kind, it improves traction, enhances agility and increases fuel efficiency by engaging four-wheel drive automatically as and when required.
Land Rover is also introducing a world-first called InControl to the vehicle. This function enables smartphone apps to be displayed and controlled with their original look and feel from the vehicle’s touchscreen.
In addition, the Autobiography Dynamic boasts a new grille design, lower front valance, jewel-like headlights and tail lamps plus 20-inch forged alloy wheels.
There’s also Autobiography identity badging on the tailgate and front wing vents along with a new metallic body colour called phoenix orange.
Inside, there’s leather-clad luxury as one would expect with a choice of six colours, either sports or premium climate seats and the headrests feature an Autobiography embossed logo.
Since its launch in 2011, the British-built Range Rover Evoque has won 157 international awards and has sold more than 270,000 worldwide, making it the fastest-selling Land Rover of all time.
