Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 JTS V6 Q4 TI

Italian chic that’s guaranteed to stand out in any crowd – that’s the Alfa Romeo 159.

And if you don’t believe me, ask the thousands of Alfa enthusiasts who belong to its mighty fan base.

Boasting blistering pace that could be a threat to your licence if not monitored properly, the 159 is packed with class. And for such a sporty little number it’s actually very comfortable.

The on/off ignition brings the engine into life with a roar and the smart instrument panel incorporates hooded speedo and rev counter dials plus bags of smart features.

Admittedly, the sporty suspension means you feel every bump, but in return for that minor inconvenience, you are guaranteed a hold-onto-your-hat ride. But for me, it really is about the drive and it certainly doesn’t disappoint.

In and around town, it is very responsive although the all-round visibility is a little obscured at times.

But out on the open road, the 159 really bursts into life, boasting superb road-holding thanks to its Q4 permanent four-wheel-drive and an engine that delivers incredible power and never relents from offering a little bit more.

Safety features on the 159 are first class with anti-lock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, vehicle dynamic control and an advanced suspension system that makes the vehicle extremely stable when driving at high speeds.

In fairness, despite being spacious enough for four adults with plenty of luggage space, it’s not really a family car, but rather one for the more serious motorist who just loves to drive.

All in all, the 159 has looks, dynamism, and plenty of Italian chic.
