New Dacia Duster is outstanding value
June 11, 2018
Dacia has unveiled its all-new Duster model priced from £9,995 and every single body panel has been changed.
There is a totally revised dashboard and fresh-look interior plus, for the first time, a wide range of the latest safety and convenience technologies are being made available.
But the one vital factor that hasn’t been altered is the Duster’s outstanding affordability with the new second generation range costing less than £10k for the entry-level version.
Dacia dealers open the order books this week with deliveries beginning in July – less than a year after the new model was first unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show.
The exterior styling is all-new and not one body panel is carried over from the previous generation car. There are new 17-inch wheels with black wing arch trims that help give the car a more assertive personality along with a more distinctive grille extending to the headlights, making the latest Duster appear wider than the original model.
There’s new lighting, including LED daytime running lights, and a freshly designed bonnet featuring sculpted crease lines. The windscreen has been brought forward 100mm and is more steeply raked.
The dashboard and interior have been totally revised too and the redesigned seats comprise denser foam for improved comfort and support.
There’s a new electric power steering system that reduces the effort required to turn the wheel by 35 per cent while other technologies available for the first time – depending on trim level – include climate control, blind spot warning, keyless entry with a start/stop button, automatic headlights and a multi-view camera system.
Both two and four-wheel drive variants will be available with either 115hp petrol or diesel engines – the latter is only available with front wheel drive – mated to a manual gearbox.
There are four trim levels to choose from called Access, Essential (from £11,595), Comfort (from £13,195) and the range-topping Prestige model priced from £14,395.
