SsangYong believes its new Rexton SUV will continue the renewal of brand identity which began with the launch of the stylish Tivoli crossover.
The car maker says the new SUV inherits the values of the original Rexton as a flagship model and will underpin the company’s reputation as Korea’s oldest vehicle manufacturer and only 4×4 and SUV specialist producer.
The new Rexton boasts a more refined interior and will feature Apple Carplay and Android Auto with device mirroring, 3D around view monitoring and a wide 9.2-inch HD display screen on the dashboard.
The car will be packed with safety features including nine airbags and SsangYong says the Rexton’s all-wheel-drive set up will be capable both on and off-road and the car will offer great towing ability.
The new Rexton is 4,850mm long, 1,920mm wide, 1,800mm high and has a 2,865mm wheelbase. It is longer than the current model but narrower. It will be powered by both petrol and new clean-burning diesel engines, details of which are yet to be announced
