Mercedes-AMG is gone in 3.5 seconds

Mercedes-AMG will be turning plenty of heads at next month’s Geneva Motor Show when it takes the wraps off two new versions of its E-Class line-up in the shape of the high performance E 63 4MATIC+ Estate and E 63 S 4MATIC+ Estate.
Like the AMG versions of the E-Class saloon, the new estates will offer innovative driving technology and outstanding performance, coupled with a unique design and the latest infotainment systems.
Mercedes claims the estate offers a more dynamic and agile response than its predecessor. It comes fitted with new AMG multi-clutch technology 9-speed sports transmission combined with a wet clutch. The new 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system ensures optimum traction in all road conditions.
The power for the new estates comes from the AMG 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 which gives them a peak output of 612bhp with the S version able to sprint from 0-62mph in a blistering 3.5 seconds, and the E 63 4MATIC+ in 3.6 seconds.
Both estate models come with the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system fitted as standard.
The cars will go on sale in the UK in early April with first deliveries expected to arrive in August. Exact UK specification and pricing is still to be confirmed.
