Still a great favourite, the stylish coupe is truly a “once driven never forgotten” car. With eye-catching good looks, outstanding specification levels and excellent safety features, it’s so easy to see why its success just goes from strength to strength.

Test Drive

Hyundai Coupe 2.0 3dr

Fact, the Hyundai Coupe is no newcomer to our showrooms, but it’s also true that every time it is re-launched it goes from strength to strength and I’m delighted to say the SIII is no exception.

Boasting jaw-dropping good looks with streamlined curves, twin exhausts that will wake your neighbours and 17-inch alloys, the Coupe always stands out in a crowd and is guaranteed to bring out the green-eyed monster in some onlookers.

And the dazzling design continues when you enter the cabin where the quality of technology and features is most impressive.

There is, for example, heated seats, a clearly marked central console and dazzling electric-blue instrumentation illumination on all dials.

So, once sitting comfortably – which isn’t hard – what about the drive itself?

The 2.0-litre engine on the test model was responsive and powerful and the smooth transmission simply adds to the quality and enjoyment of the whole experience. In fact, at times the ride was so smooth it was hard to believe it was a coupe model at all.

Road-holding was exceptional even on tight bends where the Coupe gripped the surface for pleasure.

Obviously with sleek streamlining there is always a shortfall on the all-round visibility stakes and this model is no different, but it is a small price to pay really in an otherwise flawless vehicle.

Hyundai has crammed the Coupe full of top notch safety features including anti-lock brakes, impact bars, reinforced pillars and a whole lot more and when you add in the five-year warranty, it really is an attractive option for anyone looking to buy a beautifully crafted car that packs a mighty punch.
